My Journey into Design: From Curiosity to Craft - Md Saimon Hossen
I wanted to share my story here, not just as a résumé, but as a journey of how I found design, how I grew, and where I’m heading.
Where It Started
Growing up, I was always curious about how things worked, from computers to everyday objects. That curiosity eventually pulled me into design and technology. I wanted to understand not only how things function but also how people experience them.
When I started studying Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), I found myself drawn to the creative side of tech. I realized that code and design together can shape how people interact with the digital world. That realization was a turning point.
Learning and Growth
To sharpen my skills, I completed the Google UX Design Professional Certificate, which gave me a strong foundation in research, wireframing, prototyping, and user testing. I balanced that with my university courses in CSE, which helped me understand the technical side of things.
While learning, I worked on freelance and agency projects, gaining real-world experience. Every project pushed me to think deeper about the user’s perspective.
Professional Journey
Today, I’m working at Modif as a Graphic Designer, where I get to blend creativity with strategy. Alongside my job, I co-run Makeup Coders, an IT agency where I lead UI/UX and design. Our projects include mobile apps, websites, and branding.
Closing Thoughts
Design, for me, is about empathy and problem-solving. Every pixel, every flow, every interaction is a chance to make someone’s life simpler. My journey is still unfolding, but I’m grateful for how far I’ve come and excited about what’s ahead.
